WARRANTY POLICY

KAROFI WARRANTY INFORMATION


1) Scope of Application

  • Applies to genuine Karofi home water purifiers and Hot & Cold water purifiers.
  • Applies in Southeast Asian (OVS) markets; service is performed/authorized by Karofi technical representatives.

2) Activation & Start Date

  • The warranty takes effect when the technician completes the warranty card/form with full details (model, installation date, customer, …) or when the warranty has been activated in accordance with regulations.
  • The warranty period is counted from the purchase date on the sales invoice or from the date of valid warranty activation.
  • If a valid installation date cannot be determined, apply the Production Date as summarized in the table below.
  • Note: The total warranty duration is not accumulated/extended after each repair/replacement.

3) Principles of Repair/Replacement & Service Warranty

  • Karofi repairs/replaces manufacturer-faulty parts within the committed timeline; may provide temporary equivalent parts or other solutions approved by the customer.
  • Repair location is determined by the technician (on-site at the customer’s place or at a service center) depending on cause/actual conditions.
  • Out-of-warranty repair without part replacement: rectified items are warranted 01 month from completion.

4) Conditions for Free Warranty

  1. Within scope and still within the warranty period.
  2. Warranty activated or accompanied by a valid invoice/warranty card (must be presented upon request).
  3. Warranty/void seals & serial number intact; no erasures/tampering.
  4. Used for intended purpose/function and installed per electrical & water safety standards.
  5. Maintenance & filter replacement on schedule as recommended by the manufacturer, especially for RO membrane and flow restrictor/check valve claims.
  6. A manufacturing technical fault confirmed by Karofi’s authorized technical representative.
  7. Not falling into exclusions listed in Section 5.

5) Exclusions / Chargeable Warranty (Summary)

  • Out of scope/expired warranty; consumables (filter cups, cartridges, frame/cabinet, plastics, glass…) are not covered.
  • Incorrect installation/use; improper storage; external impact, drop, deformation; damage during transportation.
  • Abnormal environment: fire, natural disasters, flood, lightning, oxidation/corrosion
  • Ingress of insects/animals/foreign objects.
  • Unstable power supply, poor contact, loose plug/socket, voltage beyond 220–240VAC; unauthorized replacement of power cord/unsuitable components.
  • Intervention, repair, redesign by third parties not authorized by Karofi.
  • Use of non-genuine Karofi accessories/parts.
  • Warranty seals/serial torn, blurred, or tampered (except confirmed clearance goods).
  • Water source not per recommendation (TDS ≥ 500; high chlorine, salt, limestone, iron; untreated well water…), especially for RO membrane / flow restrictor / check valve claims.
  • Installed where safe repair/removal is not feasible.

6) Product Exchange Policy

6.1) New (unused) products

  • Within 07 days from purchase; not installed/used; confirmed 100% new by Karofi technician; seals intact.
  • Replacement model available; value equal/higher than purchased model; customer pays the MSRP difference.
  • Customer compensates 20% of the purchased product’s MSRP and all related incurred costs.

6.2) Used products

  • Condition: product used within 15 days from purchase and has an unrepairable manufacturer technical fault (confirmed by Karofi representative); or it is a genuine product still under warranty but beyond 15 days of use where the same manufacturer fault has been repaired >3 times within 1 month; activation/invoice/labels are valid; seals intact; full components/accessories/warranty card.
  • Only applicable for failures of warrantable parts; not applicable when the issue is consumables-only (cartridges, tubes/hoses, labels…).
  • Replacement may be the same model or a different model with equivalent features depending on stock.
  • Warranty of the exchanged unit equals the remaining warranty of the original unit.
  • Parties agree on value differences per Annex 2 – Depreciation Table at exchange time for products used over 15 days from purchase.

7) Contact & Service Commitment

  • Karofi commits processing time as per internal regulations; during the waiting time, temporary parts/solutions may be provided.
  • Handling location is assessed by technicians (on-site/service center). Please provide invoice, warranty/activation proof, and photos/videos of the fault to shorten verification time.
